Sportsman Spirit In The Making Of Better World
Sports are healthy medium of entertainment and boxing is not an exception. Sporting activity unites the world and Olympic is its best example. It is a common platform where athletes of almost entire world get together and compete against other (nation) for glory with sportsman spirit.
The phrase ‘sportsman spirit’ is truly valuable terminology that sport has offered to mankind. An athletic might lose or win but sportsman spirit neither loses nor wins. It exactly balances an athletic in between success and failure. An act of accepting win with humility and acceptance of defeat with respect to competitor is the moral of sportsman spirit.
Moreover, the phrase portrays essence of any religion—no boasting with success and no belittle with defeat. A successful athletic is always guided by the discipline of sportsman spirit. Due to this reason sportsmen are able of promote and spread the concept of brotherhood in the world despite their rivalry in the ring or court or pitch.
And this is not an exaggeration! You can check examples of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, Lionel Messi and Ronaldo and many more.
According to George Foreman, a boxer, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier treated each other like a brother off the ring. They had deep respect and love for each other. Mayweather and Pacquiao share the same feeling for each other like Ali and Fraizer.
Great sporting personality and sporting event can turn down the wave of animosity. Their humanistic approach is capable of changing the ill-wave existing between or among communities, nations.
People regard athletic as their role model and their (athletics’) behavior—off and on the ring— is responsible in shaping the mind of large mass. Hence, sportsman spirit is must in any athletics.
Humanity and the sense of brotherhood is the sheer need of the world at present. World requires it more than ever because almost one quarter of the planet is engulfed in war in the name of power, resources, religion, inequality and many more.
I have immense faith on sportsman spirit. Probably, it is the only thing that is capable of changing the existing face of the world—inhuman to human.
In the making of this world more human I have been incorporating the concept of sportsman spirit in my trainees especially, kids. DNA Level C Boxing Club aims to produce professional boxer but before that its goal is to develop a human with sportsman spirit.
