Boxing Ring: A Perfect Place To Learn Lesson Of Life
Boxing is all about mastering skills to combat the opponent in the ring and to struggle skillfully against all odds of life off the ring. The fundamental of fighting inside and outside the ring is same—movement, wait, watch and punch (at right time in right spot). The lesson learnt at boxing is well applied in life (business) too.
Getting in the ring is the result of long course of practice. It is not an overnight act. A well prepared boxer can well protect her/him from series of punches delivered by the opponent. Similarly, a well prepared businessman can easily tackle any kind of questions from the client/s or party. Preparation is all about making perfect ground for self from where one can take off easily to new height. The win or lose is directly associated with the homework or preparation done earlier.
Acquire fundamental skills:
A successful boxer is good at different types of punches—hook, uppercut, jab and straight—along with movement. Keep on throwing the punch for many years and you will master the skill. This is called practice and the same kind of practice is required in the business. Find out the perfect skills in you and sharpen it to rise as a business personality. Remember you have got your own unique skill just sharpen it to come out as a flying color.
Your success depends upon your mental toughness. As per Napoleon Bonaparte, real fight is fought for not more than a minute and one who withstands this one minute will come out as a winner. To stand firmly in the decisive moment is a matter of mental toughness. This is the point that crowns you winner or recognizes you as a looser. The winner faces the moment and coward quits the opportunity.
Boxing is demanding sport. It demands fearless you. Pugilism is a balance between physical and mental toughness. One who is capable of converting fear into courage will surely excel in the ring and business of life. Mental toughness is developed by mastering all of your weaknesses.
Visualize yourself as a champion:
You are what you think about yourself. A cub of a lion was lost in the jungle. A Sheep found it and reared it (cub) in its heard. The cub forgot its identity and grew up behaving like a sheep. One day a lion spotted the cub in the herd of sheep. It (lion) went to the cub but the cub ran away like other sheep in the herd. Finally, the lion trapped the cub and mirrored it in the river reminding it about its actual identity and the cub roared for the first time and became a lion then after.
Yes, visualize yourself as a champion and try to develop yourself accordingly. Never think that champions are born. Champions are developed through intense training and are recognized by the ring, in the ring. Just let the lion (champion) in you roar!
Be a team leader:
Corner man in the boxing serves a boxer as an instructor seeking the weakness in the opponent. A good boxer requires a good corner man. The same thing is required in the business world. Be a team leader and do not hesitate for brainstorming from the experts. Consider their views regarding the negative loops of the organization and other competitors and come out with solid strategic plan to counterattack. But meditate the scenario yourself because you have little bit more time in the business than in the boxing ring.
